Ohio Youth Board Member for DARE America

Walsh
Richard Walsh - Ross County

Hello, my name is Richard Walsh and I am a junior at Chillicothe High School. As a high school student I see first hand what challenges students face everyday: pressure to participate in drug, alcohol, and tobacco use, the pressure to have sex, and the pressure to be someone they aren't. I strive to end these pressures and make my school and community a place where youth can become whoever they want without worry of opposition or the need to make bad choices.

Within my school I am very active. I play Violin and Cello in orchestra and serve as the baritone section leader in my school's Cavalites Show Choir. After school, I participate in my school's Gay-Straight Alliance, Tri-M music honor's society, and French Honor's Society. I occasionally participate in school and community theater. Within my community I serve as a commanding officer in the Ross County Junior Sheriff's Deputy League, a GLSEN Student Ambassador, participate in community orchestras, and volunteer my time at Easter Seals
Adult MRDD Day Center.
