Officer Qualifications

The D.A.R.E. Core Curriculum is taught at 5th/6th grade level during one 45-minute period for 9 weeks. To be eligible, a police officer must be a sworn full-time officer with two years uniformed street experience in their current department OR a sworn full-time officer with a total of two years uniformed street experience and who has successfully completed the current department’s imposed probationary period Officer must have no sustained disciplinary actions within the past three years OR be involved in a current departmental investigation. A Statement of Commitment must be completed by both the Police Department and the School Superintendent.
