DARE Officer Training

The DOT will include training in: DARE K-4 Program, Keepin’ it REAL Elementary Core Program, Keepin’ it REAL Middle School Program, High School Curriculum as well as the RX/OTC and other enhancement lessons.

To be eligible, a police officer must be a sworn full-time officer with two years uniformed street experience in their current department OR a sworn full-time officer with a total of two years uniformed street experience, who has successfully completed the current departments imposed probationary period.

The officer must have no sustained disciplinary actions within the past three years or be involved in a current departmental investigation.

A Statement of Commitment must be completed by both the Police Department and School Superintendent.

The registration fee covers all training costs and materials. The two-week training is held at a central Ohio location. A majority of the meals are provided for the duration of the 80-hour training. Overnight lodging is not included. Other application requirements apply.

The application, all paperwork/information and payment must be received BEFORE an Officer will be confirmed in the class.
